Connecting With Your Audience on Social Media

January 11, 2023 10:14 am

Businesses know the importance of connecting with their audience and there is no better way to accomplish this than reaching your targeted group on your social media channels. Whether you use Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, or TikTok, the name of the game is engagement.

Let’s take a closer look at a few ways that connections can be made to help boost your business in a social media-obsessed world.

Ask Opinions

One of the best ways to get your followers to engage with you, your services, or your products is to ask for their honest opinion. Your followers and fans will love giving feedback and will do so honestly and openly when it’s on a social media platform. (Sometimes too openly!)

Polls and surveys can not only allow you to engage with your audience but give you some much-needed info about how customers feel about your products and services. And gathering quick information is no easier than asking a question on your most followed social channel.

Post Videos

More and more companies are switching from exclusively written and visual content to video content. Your audience is more likely to consume your content in video form than in merely pictures and words. For good or bad, we have become a country that learns best through watching. We pick up on details and get a better understanding of products and services through videos than through any other method.

Additionally, videos are extremely valuable when they teach something new, give insider info, or let your consumer into your world by introducing team members through the videos.

Show Customer Appreciation

It’s not easy for small businesses to have loyal customers right away. A social media channel can help businesses show their customers that they are appreciated by giving them promotional codes on the social channels, providing insider information on upcoming products, or sharing how-tos that are meant for only their followers.

Respond To Issues Promptly

If a problem arises with your products or services, you bet that the people involved will head to your social channels to let their grievances be known. This is a double-edged sword since you really don’t want negative comments spread on your socials but you also have an opportunity to show what your company is made of in these circumstances. This is your chance to show that you are a business that is dedicated to customer service. If there is a problem, show how you will make it right and own up to the issue. If it is something out of your area of control, explain that as well. Your response should be polite and relevant and show others who are following along how you operate even when things go south.
