Learn More About Marblehead, MA

Just 18 miles North of Boston is the small coastal town of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Like most coastal communities, Marblehead’s town identity and culture are centered heavily around the water that borders the town. Occasionally referred to as the “Birthplace of the American Navy”, Marblehead’s water is not just a modern facet of its identity, as the seas played a role in the American Revolution and Civil War.

Marblehead is mainly a residential community, but it has two quaint downtown areas. While one is more central to the town, the other is located in a historic district, but both are equally filled with Mom and Pop shops and charming small businesses. These two commercial areas are central hubs for the community and often the site of many town traditions throughout the year.

Marblehead is a hidden gem as it doesn’t sit directly on a major highway, but this adds to the town’s charm and classic New England feel.
