Small Business Clinics 

One of the main goals of the North Shore Alliance is to bring regional leaders from 30 communities together to explore and take action on economic development issues that can help grow the region, including those that advance the Commonwealth as a whole.

Helping small businesses with educational programs including Small Business Clinics and technical assistance is one of the ways we help new businesses get started and growing businesses evolve. 

Some of the recent classes and speakers we have hosted include: 

• A webinar entitled, “Strategic Reset, Your Business Beyond Covid.” This webinar helped organizations take stock of where they are and move forward. Whether your business has just survived or thrived, business practices are out of balance and a reset is needed.
• A webinar entitled, “6 Do It Yourself Tips.” This session focused on search tips on Google and Bing where business owners can help get their organization noticed. 
• A webinar with Human Resources expert Laurie LaBrie on “Need to Know Employment Issues During & Post COVID.” 
• A webinar called, “You’re More Than A Business, You’re A Brand” led by Tariana Little, Co-founder & CEO of EmVision Productions.

These are just a few of the small business clinics we have continued to offer growing business leaders across the North Shore of Massachusetts. 

Upcoming Events 

In addition to our speakers and webinars geared toward small business leaders and managers, we offer a full calendar of events that may be of interest to our viewers looking to expand their business or help it through these uncertain times.

One of our popular programs includes the Biz-M-Power programs. The Biz-M-Power crowdfunding matching grant program offers small businesses in Massachusetts financial assistance with their acquisition, expansion, improvement, or lease of a facility, purchase or lease of equipment, or with meeting other capital needs for the business. 

Eligible applicants will be empowered to advance their business with an innovative approach to obtaining capital. Through crowdfunding campaigns, these businesses connect with their local residents and stakeholders to advance projects that support economic success and transformation for their businesses and in their communities. This program is funded by the Commonwealth’s Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2021.
