MetroCommon 2050 is Greater Boston’s next long-range regional plan, led by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC). MetroCommon is designed to look at common challenges and opportunities experienced by the 101 cities and towns of Metropolitan Boston in order to promote smart growth and regional collaboration. Now in Phase 1 of a six-phase process, MAPC is engaging with local and state leaders, residents and commonly underrepresented groups about the future they want for the region. Topics being discussed include pressing issues such as; equity of wealth and health, climate mitigation and resiliency, housing, growth and mobility and dynamic, inclusive, collaborative governance. MAPC has been holding interactive listening sessions throughout the region and will be joining NSTC’s Sustainability Forum for an interactive session to talk about what we see working now and how we envision the future from a sustainability perspective.
Presenters: Eric Hove, Director of Strategic Initiatives; Lizzie Grobbel, MetroCommon 2050 Project Manager, both from Metro Area Planning Council (MAPC)
