Resources Available to Diversity Businesses
June 1, 2023 9:56 amBusinesses that are certified as Diversity or Minority-Owned meaning they are more than 51% owned by a diversity-designated group have access to resources at the local, state, and federal levels. These resources can assist with many different aspects of business dealings from employee training to financial and technical assistance and from bidding opportunities to organizational partnerships.
For this article, we will be using interchangeably diversity-owned, minority-owned, and
minority-owned business enterprises as various organizations use different terms to express
similar findings.
Massachusetts Diversity Businesses Resources
Securing procurement and contracting relationships with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts can be a complicated process that requires some assistance, especially for new, small, and diversity-designated businesses. The Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) has a comprehensive list of resources that can be accessed on their website.
Many of these resources help with access to financial capital, leadership and employee training and development, networking, and bidding opportunities within the Commonwealth.
SDO Training Resources
The Supplier Diversity Office has a multitude of training videos and programs including buyer and vendor training, finding partners, Diversity Program Overview videos, and a review of the forms needed within the certification program.
Bidding Opportunities
In addition to training resources, the SDO also has bidding opportunities through procurement portals and resources. These are available to diverse and small companies seeking to do business with public (state and municipal), quasi-public, and other customers.
Financial & Technical Resources
