Northeast Legal Aid, Inc. (NLA) staff attorneys will lead this Contracts Basics for Small Business Owners workshop that will cover the essentials of business contracts that every small business owner should know. In this workshop, the presenters will:

· Explain why contracts are important for small business owners

· Describe common business contracts

· Share best practices of negotiating, drafting, and signing contracts as well as common missteps and how to avoid them

· Walk through the basic structure of a contract and highlight key provisions

· Describe the essential elements of forming any contract, and go over special legal requirements for some contracts to be enforceable
